Gorillaz' single '19-2000' reviewed

From the NME, 23 June 2001. Review by Victoria Segal.

Couldn't they just have sent a text message? If Modern Life Is Rubbish, Gorillaz are campaigning for new landfills in every green space in Britain, pushing their spry modernism with all the evil intent of George Bush undercover at a Greenpeace meeting. The bouncing '19-2000' has Damon Albarn singing about his "mama", should-know-better former Talking Head Tina Weymouth contributing backing vocals, and a soul you could download in seconds. If your mobile phone comes with space shuttle conversion capacity and teasmaid A-bomb facility, you'll love it.
