watching: a rerun of ellen's sitcom (how weird)

i got a 15-meter ethernet cable so now i can sit on the too-fluffy couch that is ruining both our spines and use my laptop to go online or share apps w/my desktop computer upstairs. SAM ROCKWELL! i just wanted to shout his name! he is on my *list* (friends reference cos i'm lame) along with benicio... so we have recently seen two excellent sam vehicles, namely confessions of a dangerous mind, which i wanted to see in the states but never got around to, and matchstick men (watch out for the flash pop-up here), which you may think is going to get sappy but STAY TUNED... there is a bizarre twist and the look of the film overall is stunning. sam rules in both. i first saw him in box of moonlight, then safe men, and of course the fantabulous galaxy quest which just plain rocks. rocks i tell you. anyhoo, we are off to look at bicycles in a moment, and today i bought a wet/dry cordless dustbuster. when i ain't raving about the evils of the industrial world i am a good little consumer. no, just somewhat obsessed with cleanliness but not in a psychotic way (i swear). tomorrow we may go to rottingdean, a swell village near brighton & hove. also a call to the local cat's rescue center is on the horizon. the plan is to get two rescue cats that need to be homed together and are deemed difficult to place (ie; old or weird or something). cats! i miss having them so much i could cry. ellen is funny. laters.

this is like, edgy weird circus music.

dingdingdingda
dingdingdingda
dingdingdingda
dingdingdingda buh ba dumdadumdedum.... if you've ever heard the song you know what i'm talking about. i'm at work and it's time to interface with the franking machine. prepare ye.

later that night... from our day in brighton - 2 mini-gifs (they are quite crap, really) of:

suey trying out the ocean

and a very bold starling eating from her hand by the brighton pavilion. so cute!

two pics: our nice picnic lunch

emma says "no more olives, i smash you with rock!"

a most interesting afternoon to say the least.

listening to: something that sounds like neutral milk hotel but i can't be arsed to check... oh wait, it's tree by pinback (not even close)

brighton was insane and we laughed all day. the ride "crazy mouse" should have its named changed to "violent, frightening whiplash mouse" and people, just stay away from ghost train cos it SUCKS. worst ride ever. as soon as i get my act together i'll post pix from that and other recent stuff (like me + d on holiday which was awesome as well). today i will be mostly cleaning up around the house, and i think a vindaloo with mango chutney and papadums is on the horizon. home-made of course!

have you seen gerbil roulette? if you are in the UK it's on sky digi 431. at first i thought they were spinning the gerbil but the table spins AROUND the gerbil. who says we haven't evolved?

the official ironmen rally song by GBV

downsized... again.

without going into the gory details, my latest foray into the corporate world has once again been prematurely thwarted by evil capitalistic uber-powers. so 'round the end of september i'll be doing something else for money (hyuk, snicker), again. the only constant is constant change. at least i am in synch with the universe, and it's rather comforting. thank jah i have become a fearless leather-weasel with razor fangs of angry hot steel. the ubiquitous "they" have obviously caught on that i am just taking the piss with all this job-crap.

tomorrow i am going to brighton with emma and suey which should be a stone soul picnic! Hope the weather holds out. see, i couldn't care less. money? easy come easy go. i have love and a reasonable amount of sanity left to hold my wobbly soul together. so smile.

* non-sequitor alert*

fountains of wayne have completely ripped off the guitar line from "open my eyes" by nazz for their mucho wusso song "bright future in sales". someone had to say it.

listening to: in the park by the fall

read this! and all the links too. yay!

too tired to post; more later. back to work tomorrow and i get to see if i'll even have a job in a few months (scala got bought by an american company, how ironic). constant change is my only consistency it seems.

i just had a birthday. this is me, taken today. i have a fringe (bangs) now but you can't tell from this picture!

giant trees rule.

listening to: stormy weather sung by lena horne

well, i'm off on hols for a week after today so who knows when the next update will be... check out some of the links while i'm away, they all bear the seal of self-righteous inflammation that only a link from this page could warrant, i assure you. what? anyway, in the beastie boys newsletter i received today they link to this page about the benefits of choosing organic for T-shirts and what-not. yay. i've known those three nutters since we were all knee-high to a cockroach (it was nyc after all). good on yas boys.

marie is covering for me at work; her boo's band not katie's is on tour as we speak so check 'em out punx.

it's link-madness!!!

listening to: cheeseburger by gang of four

solid gold is hands down one of the greatest albums EVER. andy gill rules, or at least he did on the 1st two Go4 recordings (the 1st being entertainment). i disagree with at least one reviewer's comment that "at least occasionally, the Gang of Four does deliver postpunk manifestos that are accessible to everyone"... as usual some twat music writer thinks far too much of himself but at least you'll get an idea of the songs here if you've never heard the record. his final paragraph makes me want to hit things but that's the price you pay... anyway, horse's mouth: here is an andy gill interview.

the other link i wanted to be sure and post is unamerican.com, i first spotted their wares on telegraph road in berkeley CA with donna within days of relocating there... the "shut up hippy" bumpersticker is a classic; roll over the images & click to get strange messages. some of the stuff is a little predicatble but some is supah fresh. it's worth a viddy dear brothers.

derry you were right; i love your update & i love you!

new house pix as soon as the *&@#$£%!! broadband is up at home. get with the program wannadoo.

listening to: traffic on the rainy gatwick road

this is the month of my birth and it's off to a pretty weak start. it's grey and wet outside and i am in a foul mood. foul. i shall drown my sorrows in coffee and whiney emo tracks.

it just seems like the thing to do.
