we got hacked, but now the site is back.

until further notice, or at least until after the US election in november, you will see this link all over this page:

truthout.

please, please go there.

i am absolutely OUTRAGED at the lack of US coverage on the ongoing bloodshed and absolute disaster of iraq. if you google on anything to do with the 'war', or casualties / death toll in iraq, etc., you will only see hits on european and asian news portals! it is a fucking crime that there is a news blackout of this scope in the states.

you, the american voter, need to know what is really going on. because your tv ain't gonna tell you, your radio ain't gonna tell you, and your lying, evil 'president' sure as fuck ain't gonna tell you. i am mad as hell. this administration is doing a great job of keeping the public in a terrified haze.

also: put away your hankies... a message from michael moore

michael, you are right on the money honey. why are the republicans so good at what they do? because they never stop, they never go away, they never surrender... AND NOW IT'S OUR TURN. let's be stubborn bastards like they are, because we know we are right, and we know we have to make these changes happen. not soon, not later, not in 4 years... but this fall. don't be swayed by those phony polls - who are they polling? people who have voted consistently every year, never move, and answer their home phones to talk to telemarketers! please! not a very realistic cross-section of people who may be voting for the first time (or in a long time) this year, that's for certain.

NEVER GIVE UP... NEVER SURRENDER!

no updates in a looooong time. i haven't much to say really. been on holiday this week and then i finish up at the old job for 2 weeks. then it's 6 weeks or so of commuting to hove until we move.

both our computer setups are in the living room now since we had to put the bed back together in the spare room (showing house to prospective tenants, eccch). i love watching TV and being on the 'good' computer at the same time. i'm a product of the very age i decry. shit.

today i had to go all the way to horsham for fruit & veg since crawley shops can't be arsed to stock anything that isn't 'popular' on their shelves... so if we wanted to live on cheap sausages, and biscuits and crisps with 17 e-numbers we'd be fine (and riddled with disease). nice job, tesco and sainsbury - you come in here with your huge fucking megashops, close down all the small greengrocers & specialty stores but refuse to realize that you are providing an important COMMUNITY SERVICE and not just here to rake in profits. your pathetic little organic sections are shameful and patronizing at best. i hate you and all you stand for.

fuck megacorporations, fuck privatization, fuck government for profit, fuck you ford for closing down the jaguar plant in coventry for no good reason, fuck you apple for refusing to make good on your legal agreement with indie labels, and fuck me for forgetting to get some nuts or something to snack on. i'm starving over here.

i've got a pasta e fagioli base simmering and the aroma is incredible. ::drool.

so, now there is a squirrel. this is probably in direct relation to all the horror going on all over the world. a return to simpler things is needed. like, the sweet little red squirrel. ever hear bill oddie go off about squirrels? it will bend your head. this news addiction i have developed is kinda working against me, and i'm frankly feeling a bit overwhelmed. i was such a huge escapist for most of my life, and now that i'm paying attention and analyzing things closely... i remember why i became an escapist in the first place. life was easy when all i cared about was getting a stupid record deal or tour happening. meh.

so now for a recap:
- took the job in hove. i start october 4 (our one-year anniversary). will be commuting to portslade for a while till we relocate.

- made a new animation, another travelogue really, and it's called atypical hove. i do not know why. music by boards of canada.

- the league of gentlemen series three is fucking bizarre and great. highly recommended (yah i know it's been out a while).

- do i seem blase? i have a headache. it's very muggy and the air is still. we have strawberry tarts to eat. mmm, i think i want mine now. ciao.
