Back to: Archive · 1999 Tibet Freedom Concert, 13th June 1999, Amsterdam RAI Park Hall from the Melody Maker, 26 June 1999 Blur headlined the concert, arriving onstage with Damon promising, "We're gonna give you some air-hangar music." The set consisted almost entirely of songs from "13", although there was a rare treat in the encore, as they played "Blue Jeans" from the 1993 album "Modern Life Is Rubbish". They finished with a euphorically received "Song 2". Damon's only comment about Tibet was: "You all know why you're here... to find out about it. If you don't know much about it... find out about it." The setlist was : Tender, Bugman, Coffee & TV, Swamp Song, 1992, B.L.U.R.E.M.I., Battle, Trimm Trabb and No Distance Left To Run. They encored with Blue Jeans and Song 2. |
