Back to: Archive · 2000 'Music Is My Radar' reviewed From the NME, 14 October 2000. Review by Steven Wells. Shut it! You cat's arse-mouthed, floppy-fringed, rubber-limbed, romper-suited, monkey-booted, super-art stude pseud fool! OK, so your bird's left you! Get over it! And... hang on. We're wrong! Not only had Damon got over his heartbreak, he's obviously getting his sprouts strained again. Hurrah! This could have been really good - it could have been 'Song 2' version two. But it's not. It's a mildly funky, slightly slinky, ever so moderately bluesy 'Coffee & TV' sorta vibe and then it stops. And the guitar makes a wonderfully 'merky', elongated faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaart noise like a flatulent duck. Groovy. And then it gets frightfully aerobic and Damon comes over all slightly embarrassing, late-'80s Mick Jagger in leg warmers. See whitey get down! And it's quite good. |
