Single info:
The flop of Popscene derailed the group's career for 12 months, but in retrospect it was one of their greatest triumphs. With drums inspired by Can's "Mother Sky", a snaking, scuzzy bass line and blaring horns, this proto-New Wave Of New Wave bullet careened recklessly through its verses before being brought to a halt by the anthemic stop-start chorus. A withering attack on the music business, it remains a live favourite. See this extract from 3862 Days for more information.
